A judge declared a mistrial in the sentencing phase of Jodi Arias' Arizona murder trial today, after the jury could not agree on whether to sentence Arias to death or to life in prison for murdering her ex-boyfriend, Travis Alexander, in 2008.

Several years ago, I had the opportunity to be on a jury panel and was elected jury foreman by my peers.  

Back then, it was difficult to contain my joy.  You see, I'd always known that I wanted to experience formal deliberation.  I know I have a JUSTICE theme in my SOUL!  I believe I'd make a pretty good attorney or investigator.  But, I digress...

Organization

• My duty, as the foreman, was to establish a procedure for the deliberations.  I had to decide  how the evidence and the points made by the attoreys during the trial was to be reviewed, ensuring that all pertinent information was covered and that no important evidence was left out of the discussion. I also asked for clarification from the judge concerning points of the law.

  Mediation

  As foreman, I led the discussion of the various points of the case.  In some instances, disputes arose between jury members who disagreed on interpretation of the evidence, or even on the guilt or innocence of the defendant.  I had to intervene and attempt to resolve the dispute so that the deliberation process stayed on track.

  
  

  My panel wanted to declare us a hung jury after only three hours of deliberation.  I did my best at helping them see we were there to do a job and it was our civic duty to truly work toward an agreement.  We hung in there until we reached a verdict, which in our case took three days.

  When I felt that all of the evidence has been thoroughly reviewed, I took a vote of the jury members as to the defendant's guilt or innocence. At first, the jury did not reach a unanimous verdict, so I asked jury members to explain their votes to determine where they differed. This process continued until a unanimous verdict was reached.

  When deliberations concluded and the jury reached a unanimous verdict on all charges, I sent word to the judge that a verdict had been reached. The judge then reconvened the court so that the verdict could be announced.

• Once court was back in session, the judge asked me, as the jury foreman, to rise and announce the verdict. The judge read each charge against the defendant and I responded with "Guilty". 

  
  

  Knowing that someone's fate is in your hand is sobering. Often I don't see the justice in so-called justice.  Having the opportunity to serve on a jury panel was a humbling and unforgettable opportunity.

HEALING with MOTHER LOVE

Many of you know that besides being a clairvoyant and a medium, I am a healer and a mentor.  I have been given the gift of seeing, hearing, sensing and healing in multidimensional ways.

All those years ago, when I first had the privilege of working with my dear mentor in the New Orleans area, she urged me to go deeper, go all the way to the SOUL.  She was adamant that no healing can take place at the psychic level alone.

I have unfailingly followed her sage advice and now pass it along with reverence to my own students.

The most exciting aspect of my journey is the fact that I continue to learn new things about myself.  Every once in a while, I become complacent and coast, or rest, on my laurels.  Fortunately, if that happens,  The Universe does its thing and drop kicks my butt.

The Vessel

I have been dealing with an intestinal issue for several months.  Although I've eaten healthy for the last decade, years of too much wheat and refined sugar, beginning in early childhood,  do not support my current vibration.  So, it's a little like a war between light and dark.  The old faction wants to keep the reign, but the new says NO WAY!  

With the help of three dear friends, one a Naturopathic Doctor/Acupuncturist, one a whiz at Meridian Testing and the other my closest friend, I have found some answers and have a healing plan of action in place.

If you're still reading, here's where the BIG AHA moment comes in...

I am a researcher at heart, and so as I often do, I was browsing the net for information.  I came across a site that spoke highly of a supplement called COLOSTRUM, which is rich in protective and regulating factors necessary to promote health and vitality.   I decided to add this to my daily regime.

Later the same day, I got quiet and did a card reading for myself.  I use the Sacred Path cards, which is a beautiful oracle deck based on Native American spirituality.  I laid the cards out slowly and thoughtfully.  Suddenly, the cards began to communicate with me.  

The final card was called RETURNING HOME - The Shawl.  This card speaks of coming home to the arms of Mother Earth and being wrapped in her nurturing love.

Mother Love

I began to cry.  This card opened up something very deeply buried within me.  I had missed out on Mother Love.   Although I have been intellectually aware of this for many, many years, it had never hit me this way.  Now, I was FEELING THE PAIN.

My mom was a schizophrenic and was never very affectionate toward me and did not protect me from my abusive, alcoholic dad.   She, did however, avidly protect my only sister and brothers.  The result is that I took the brunt of the physical, mental, emotional and sexual abuse.  This is my karmic journey; I truly realize how it was my choice at a SOUL LEVEL and how it plays into my path.  

Bringin' it home now...

Later that same day (yes, this all happened in one day!), I was on the phone with my dear friend, who is wise beyond her years.  I mentioned my emotional response to the oracle card.  It was easy enough to understand my reaction, even though, as I often hear from clients, I thought I'd already dealt with the majority of mother issues.

Heal the Spirit, Heal the Body

I shared the research I'd done that morning and how I would add Colostrum to my daily regime.  Previously, she'd mentioned that she felt that there was something my body was not receiving; something that was key in healing my gut.  She reiterated.  I asked if she had any knowledge of the supplement I'd just discovered.

She began to relate her experience of the birth of her children and how she breast fed each baby.  She educated me on the pre-milk production of colostrum, which only lasts for a small period of time after childbirth.  This powerful fluid protects newborns as they come into our world of bacteria and viruses.  

In other words, it is a mother's innate way of LOVING and PROTECTING her baby.  

MOTHER LOVE...  OMG!  

Without consciously realizing it, I am seeking Mother Love to heal my body.  When this is absent in early childhood, it has a major impact.  I have mothered many throughout my life, starting with siblings.  I get it and a much deeper level than ever before.  I am JOYOUS!

Balancing my physical vessel began in 2003 and continues.  Developing my psychic gifts was a piece of cake compared to dealing with this 3-D body.  But, I know it's all part of the package!

The last time I dealt with big mother issues was immediately preceding  the gift of mediumship, some 15 years ago.  I sense that a higher level of healing abilities awaits me on the other side of this jaunt.  

Did I mention that I am JOYOUS?!

Shift Happens!

PAT ROBERTSON, DIDN'T YOU GET THE MEMO?

“Well, he’s a man.”  commented televangelist Pat Robertson (700 Club), when recently  responding to a female viewer asking for help regarding her cheating husband.

His best advice:   Get over the infidelity and provide a better home so he doesn't “wander.”

What did you just say?!  I think I just threw up in my mouth a little...

Apparently, this is just one in a long list of other comments/ recommendations Mr. R. offers to women in similar relationship situations:

"Stop focusing on the adultery and instead ponder, “Does he provide a home for you to live in, does he provide food for you to eat, does he provide clothes for you to wear, is he nice to the children…is he handsome?”

"Do more to prevent your husband from cheating: “But recognize also, like it or not, males have a tendency to wander a little bit and what you want to do is make a home so wonderful that he doesn't want to wander.”

Earlier this year Mr. R. was criticized when he suggested a woman’s looks might be to blame for her marital problems. He told a story about a woman who asked a reverend how to stop her husband’s drinking problem.

“She was awful looking. The preacher looked at her and said, ‘Madam, if I was married to you I’d start to drink too,’” Mr. R. said.

Slap some butter on it and call it a biscuit!  

Shifting Paradigms

I could go on a rant and discuss my thoughts on this guy's archaic attitude, but instead I'll share a little about the shift in paradigm; the shift of ages.

We left the Age of Pisces and entered into the Age of Aquarius in 2012.  It is said to last some 2,150 years.  This should give Mr. R. oodles of time to catch up.  

The energy of the two influences is vastly different.  I'll discuss this more in a future blog, but for now, think of it this way:

Age of Pisces = Hierarchy, masculine dominated

Age of Aquarius = Equality, masculine and feminine walk side-by- side

Clearly, Mr. R. did not get the memo.  That's OK.  We all grow in our own time and at a pace  we choose.  He may just come back in his next life as a Stepford wife!

Eclipses magnify our out-of-sorts state of being, anchoring powerful energy that affects Mother Earth's Electromagnetic Grid.  The Grid carries information about every individual living upon her.  Eclipses can impact our base frequency  because they affect the Grid. Just because we can’t always see an eclipse doesn't mean we don’t feel the influence. 

Eclipses often bring about a crisis of sorts that leads to a significant event or life change.  Therefore, many people tend to fear these cosmic events.  Even so, we are usually the ones to attract changes because our "higher self" knows that we need it. 

Lunar Eclipse = Endings

If you have stayed in situations that are making you miserable for too long, deep down inside you know that change is not only due  but truly needed for growth and well-being.

Eclipse season is an opportune time to release old, limiting, even self-destructive behaviors in order to make way for a new, higher vibration.  Remember, fear resides in low vibration and love thrives in high vibration, with all degrees of each existing in-between.

A large part of my healing practice is cutting energetic cords to these old and outdated imprints. These cords block energy flow and can cause emotional, physical, mental and spiritual blockages.

We can be corded to people we interact with (and even those we simply come into contact with) and events that transpire all throughout life and even as early as in utero, and past life experiences.   That’s a lot of baggage to lug around!
